Questions Buyers Ask Us Most
Grouped by what you are trying to work out — minimums, price, samples, customisation, shipping.
General
Do you sell wax, fragrance oils or empty jars?
We can — finished candles are the core business, but we also supply wax, fragrance oils and vessels on request. Say what you need in the enquiry and we will quote it separately.
Can you make something that isn't in your standard range?
Usually. Every vessel can be custom-moulded from 1,000 pcs (mould fee $70-150, refunded once cumulative orders pass 3,000 sets), and beyond candles the floor also runs wax melts, reed diffusers, room sprays, scented cards and incense. Soap is the one thing we do not make.
Can we visit the factory or send a third-party auditor?
Yes, and we would rather you came. You are welcome at the factory in Xuzhou, and we accept third-party audits — SGS, BV, or an inspector you appoint. Give us around 20 days' notice so the line you want to see is actually running the week you arrive.
How much can you produce in a month?
Around 120,000 pieces a month across seven production lines — one automated, six semi-automated — on a 2,000 m² floor in Xuzhou. In Q4 the schedule fills up, which is why seasonal orders are worth booking early.
What does the whole process look like, from first email to delivery?
Four steps. (1) You send a brief — product line, rough quantity per scent, where it ships. (2) We come back with tiered pricing, any one-off costs and a lead time, and flag anything in the brief that costs more than it is worth. (3) You approve a physical sample — 7-10 days to make, quoted with your request, and two revision rounds are free. (4) We run it in 25 days, check it before it is packed, and ship.
What do you need from me before you can quote?
Four things, and none of them need to be final. Which product line and roughly what size. Quantity per scent — that number matters more than the total. Which elements must be custom (label, box, vessel, wax, fragrance) and which can stay standard. Destination, and any date it has to land by. A rough answer to each gets you a real number instead of a range.
Is a repeat order as involved as the first one?
No. The first run is where the work is — choosing the wax, getting the label right, approving a sample. Once that is signed off the spec is on file, and repeat orders skip straight to scheduling: same formula, same vessel, same artwork, no new sample unless you change something. In practice that takes 7-10 days off the first-order lead time.
Customisation & Branding
What can be customised?
Labels in seven finishes (sticker, hot-stamp, silk-screen, embossed, heat-transfer and more), logo on the vessel or lid, packaging with free design service, glass or ceramic vessels, four lid materials, ten wax options and the fragrance itself — 30 stock scents or a custom match.
Do I need print-ready artwork, or can you help with the design?
A logo file is enough to start — label and packaging design is done in-house, free of charge. Send what you have and we will turn it into print-ready artwork for your approval before anything is made.
Will you sell the same design to someone else?
No. A design developed with you — your vessel, your label, your scent brief — is yours, and we do not resell it to another buyer. If you want that in writing before you share artwork, we will sign an NDA.
Minimums & Trial Orders
What is your minimum order quantity?
Our standard MOQ is 500 pcs per scent — so three scents means 1,500 pcs in total. Below that we take trial orders from 100 pcs, using a stock vessel and a fragrance from our library with your own label, so you can test the market before committing to a full custom run.
Can I do a small trial run before committing to a full order?
Yes. Trial runs start at 100 pcs — a stock vessel and a fragrance from our library, finished with your own printed label. Full customisation starts at 500 pcs per scent; custom packaging keeps its 500-pc minimum, though the balance can be reserved for your next order.
Pricing
How is pricing calculated?
By quantity per scent and how much is custom. As a reference for a standard glass-jar candle: $2.5-3 up to 500 pcs, $2-2.3 to 1,000, $1.8-2 to 3,000 and $1.5-1.8 beyond — your exact price depends on vessel, wax and packaging.
Do you offer tiered pricing for larger volumes?
Yes, and we publish the reference bands for a standard glass-jar candle: $2.5-3 up to 500 pcs, $2-2.3 to 1,000, $1.8-2 to 3,000, and $1.5-1.8 beyond that. Vessel, wax and packaging move the number — send your spec for the exact price.
What pushes the unit price up or down?
Four things, roughly in order of impact. Quantity per scent — splitting a run across more scents costs more than the same total in one. The vessel: stock glass and ceramic run from 500 pcs, custom moulds and special colours from 1,000. How much is custom — a custom box or vessel each carry their own minimum and tooling. And the wax itself.
Are there one-off costs on top of the unit price?
Only when a mould is opened. Custom-moulded vessels carry a mould fee of $70-150, start at 1,000 pcs, and the fee is refunded once your cumulative orders pass 3,000 sets. A custom sample, if you want one first, is quoted with your request — you get the figure before anything is made.
What are your payment terms?
30% deposit to schedule production, the remaining 70% before shipment. L/C and Alibaba Trade Assurance are both accepted.
Samples
Can I get samples before placing an order?
Yes. Two stock samples are free — you cover the courier. Custom samples are quoted with your request, because the cost depends on vessel, label and packaging. Sampling takes 7-10 days plus about a week in transit.
What happens if the sample is not right?
We revise it — two rounds are included at no charge, and each round takes 7-10 days. Tell us what is off (the scent throw, the colour, the label placement) and we pour it again. Nothing goes into production until you sign off on a sample you are happy with.
Corporate Gifting
We have a fixed event date. Can you work backwards from it?
Yes — give us the date and we plan backwards. Count roughly 25 days of production (about 30 in Q4), 7-10 days for a sample first, plus freight. For seasonal gifting, ordering a month earlier than feels necessary is the honest advice.
Can you assemble gift sets with our own inserts or cards?
Yes. Send us your cards, inserts or sleeves and we assemble the set here, so it reaches your warehouse ready to sell rather than needing a second pair of hands at your end. Assembly is hand work, so it is charged — quoted with the order once we know the pack format.
Shipping & Lead Times
How long does production take?
Sampling is 7-10 days (15-20 if a new mould is involved), bulk production 25 days, stretching to about 30 in peak season. Freight comes on top depending on sea or air.
How quickly can you restock a repeat order?
Faster than the first one — typically 7-10 days quicker, depending on the quantity and where it lands in the schedule. Your formula, artwork and vessel spec stay on file for 5 to 10 years, so a repeat order skips sampling entirely unless you change something.
Which shipping terms do you work with?
EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP — whichever suits how you import. Sea or courier depends on your volume and your deadline, and we will tell you which one actually makes sense for the shipment rather than defaulting to the expensive one. On DDP we carry the duty; on the other terms it passes to you at the named point.
What happens if something arrives damaged or short?
Tell us within 7 days of arrival and send photos. From there the remedy is your call: we re-make and re-ship the affected units, refund them, or credit them against your next order. You do not have to argue the case — the photos and the packing list settle it.
Do you provide compliance documents for my market?
Fragrances are IFRA-compliant. For the EU we support CLP hazard labelling; for the UK, UKCA requirements; for the US, ASTM F2417 and California Prop 65 labelling. MSDS/SDS sheets are provided on request — tell us the market and we will confirm the paperwork before you order.
Do lead times change in peak season?
Yes — bulk production stretches from 25 to about 30 days in peak season. For Q4 gifting, ordering a month earlier than feels necessary is the honest advice: that slack covers both the production queue and the freight crunch.
